"TAKE OFF": A HIGH-FLYING TRAINING EXPERIENCE
"Take Off" is the training course we conducted over four days in the beautiful country of Andorra.
From the outset, we wanted to preserve the crucial element of surprise, so the twenty selected students had no idea what the course would entail. They were unaware of the locations, dynamics, syllabus, or speakers.
The first phase was PREPARATION, and the chosen location was Unnic in Andorra. Our first guest, Marcos Urarte, succeeded in piquing our students' curiosity about global megatrends and significant impacts, helping them understand how these trends are reshaping industries, markets, and sectors. This initial insight provided us with a glimpse of what lies ahead on a global scale, particularly within the events sector.
Afterwards, we conducted a workshop led by coaches Gonzalo and Mariona, where they spoke about managing both internal and external clients. Through group dynamics, the students were able to get to know each other better and even themselves. They provided us with the keys to establish win-win relationships with collaborators, ensuring alignment and enhancing efficiency and productivity through shared language, ultimately impacting the business.
On the second day, we laid the groundwork for TAKE OFF, beginning at a construction site. We set up in a house under construction by MR Architecture & Decor to conduct our session. Ivan and Marc explained the close relationship between an event, which is essentially the construction of a fleeting tangible, and a project in architecture or a lasting tangible construction.
Later, we delved into the world of the big screen, exploring various forms of art: fashion, audiovisual media, gastronomy, and more. We discussed creativity guided by Jose, the mastermind behind IT Spain, who encouraged us not to set limits when creating. He emphasized thinking big because there's always time to scale down ideas later. Jose inspired the students to trust their instincts, expand their minds, and innovate to contribute something unique to society.
In the midst of popcorn and refreshments, Elsa Yranzo shared her professional journey with food, highlighting that gastronomy transcends mere sustenance. She emphasized that through food, we can express profound ideas if we embrace disruption and fearlessly experiment.
The next day, we were in the magnificent hall of the Andorra Park Hotel, where the FLIGHT began. From a bird's-eye view, literally through drone images, which is how we conduct technical visits to spaces, we started to explain in detail how we operate within La Puta Suegra. With no holds barred and complete transparency, we presented our internal tools, discussed suppliers, lighting and sound, showcased past examples, shared successes and failures, outlined our methodology and creativity, delved into the roles of our entire team, touched on future trends... and much more. In essence, we allowed the students to extract as much as possible from us so that each one could apply that information in the future.
The final day arrived, the LANDING, after an intense journey, and it was there, up among the snow, that emotions blossomed. From high above, specifically from the Arrosseria de Grandvalira, we had Albert Llovera as our guest. Through his personal experience and sincere advice, he spoke to us about dreams, setting goals, and pursuing them despite adversities. Because we all have the ability to store the negative in our "C drive," leave it behind, and focus on what truly drives us, which is the engine of our lives. In our case, through our work, that engine is participating in people's happiness and creating beautiful memories for them.
Later, we were fortunate to have a great example of overcoming challenges, perseverance, and talent among us. Almudena Cid warmly welcomed us at the Sport Hotels Resort & Spa Andorra and shared through her experience the similarities between the worlds of events and rhythmic gymnastics. Both worlds share a commitment to high performance and an artistic element that allows us to demonstrate how something very difficult can appear seemingly easy. She reflected that each gymnast is unique and tells a story with their identity; similarly, in the events industry, we must innovate each time, approaching it as a craft that, with meticulousness and creativity, impacts people's lives.
We are very pleased with the reception of the course, as the students have perfectly understood our perspective on events, and we have been able to convey it in a close and limitless manner.
